LoL Map Planner
Summoner's Rift strategy board. Draw your plays on a sharp Summoner's Rift map: champions, wards with their vision, arrows, turrets down and every camp timer, step by step. Free, no account, one link to share.
The board needs JavaScript; the map guide, the timers and the FAQ below work without it.

How to Use the LoL Map Planner
Pick a tool, pick a colour and draw on the map: the pen for routes, arrows for rotations, text for calls, and tokens for champions and wards. Everything you add belongs to the current step. Add a step to show what happens next, and press Play to run the play from the first step to the last.
- Choose a colour: blue and red for the two teams, gold and white for notes.
- Place champions with the Champion tool: search a name, then click the map. Wards go down the same way and show their sight radius.
- Draw paths with the pen, lines or arrows. The Move tool drags anything you placed, and the Eraser removes it.
- Click a turret, inhibitor or nexus with the Move tool to mark it destroyed in this step.
- Add steps for the next moments of the play. Each new step starts as a copy of the one you are on.
- Copy the share link or download a PNG for Discord. The link holds the whole plan, so nothing is saved on our side and you need no account.
On a phone the board takes the full width: pinch to zoom, and use the Move tool to pan. On a computer the zoom buttons sit above the map.
Summoner's Rift Map in HD
The map on this page is a vector drawing of Summoner's Rift, so it stays sharp at any zoom and in any PNG you download. We traced it from the game's own minimap: the walls, the lanes, the river, both bases and the two pits are where the game puts them, and the camps, turrets, inhibitors and nexuses sit on their in-game positions.
To get a clean image of the map, leave the board empty and press Download PNG. The file is 2000 by 2000 pixels, free to use in your guides and videos.
Lanes, Jungle and River Explained
Summoner's Rift is a square map with the blue base in the bottom left corner and the red base in the top right. Three lanes join the bases: top lane runs up the left edge and along the top, bot lane runs along the bottom and up the right edge, and mid lane cuts straight through the centre.
- Turrets: each lane has three turrets per team (outer, inner and inhibitor turret), and two more turrets guard each nexus: 11 turrets a side.
- Inhibitors: one per lane in each base. Destroying one makes that lane spawn super minions for the enemy until it respawns.
- River: the diagonal from top left to bottom right splits the map into two halves. The Baron pit sits in the top river and the Dragon pit in the bottom river.
- Jungle: the four areas between the lanes and the river, two per team, hold the jungle camps.
Jungle Camps and Respawn Timers (Patch 26.20)
Since patch 26.1 the buffs, Murk Wolves and Raptors spawn at 0:55, Gromp and Krugs at 1:07 and the Rift Scuttlers at 2:55. Riot moved the start of the game 35 seconds earlier in 26.1 (minions now arrive at 0:30); the respawn timers did not change. Hover a camp on the board to see its timers.
| Camp | First spawn | Respawn | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue Sentinel | 0:55 | 5:00 | One per team, in the jungle half nearer top lane for blue, bot lane for red |
| Red Brambleback | 0:55 | 5:00 | One per team, in the jungle half nearer bot lane for blue, top lane for red |
| Gromp | 1:07 | 2:15 | Next to the blue buff, at the lane edge |
| Murk Wolves | 0:55 | 2:15 | Between the blue buff and mid lane |
| Raptors | 0:55 | 2:15 | Next to mid lane, near the red buff |
| Krugs | 1:07 | 2:15 | Behind the red buff, near the bot (blue) or top (red) lane |
| Rift Scuttler | 2:55 | 2:30 | One in each half of the river; the timer starts once both are dead |
These are the timers of normal Summoner's Rift games, ranked included. Swiftplay uses shorter ones: 4:30 for the buffs and 2:00 for the other camps.
Epic Objectives: Dragon, Voidgrubs, Rift Herald and Baron
The first drake spawns at 5:00, the Voidgrubs at 8:00, the Rift Herald at 15:00 and Baron Nashor at 20:00. Patch 26.1 brought Baron forward from 25:00 to 20:00 and removed Atakhan from the map, so the top pit now holds the Voidgrubs, then the Herald, then Baron.
| Objective | Spawns | Respawn | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Elemental Drake | 5:00 | 5:00 | The fourth drake a team takes gives it the Dragon Soul. After the second drake the map changes to the element of the third. |
| Elder Dragon | 6:00 after a team's 4th drake | 6:00 | Replaces the drakes once a team has its Soul. |
| Voidgrubs | 8:00 | No respawn | One group of three; they leave at 14:45 if no one kills them. |
| Rift Herald | 15:00 | No respawn | Spawns once per game and leaves at 19:45. |
| Baron Nashor | 20:00 | 6:00 | Gives the team that kills it Hand of Baron. |
Drakes and Baron respawn counting from the moment they die. Plan the setup a minute before the timer runs out: that is when vision around the pit decides who gets the objective.
Ward Spots Every Role Should Know
A Stealth Ward sees 900 units around it, and the planner draws that radius around every ward you place so you can check what a spot really covers. Each player can have up to three Stealth Wards on the map at once; a trinket ward lasts 90 to 120 seconds, longer as the game goes on.
- River brushes: the bushes where the river meets each side lane see the jungler walking up to gank.
- Pixel brush: the small bush in each river half, between mid lane and the pit, covers the path the mid laner takes to the river.
- Tri-brush: the three-way bush near each side lane, at the edge of the jungle, sees ganks coming from inside the jungle.
- Pit entrances: before Dragon or Baron, wards at the pit entrances and a Control Ward inside the nearest bush give your team the vision to start the fight.
Place the wards on the board, look at the circles, and move them until the paths you care about are covered. A Control Ward also reveals and disables the enemy wards it sees.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the LoL map planner free, and do I need an account?
It is free and needs no account. The plan lives in your browser and in the share link, and nothing is stored on our servers.
How do I share a plan with my team?
Press Copy share link and paste it in Discord or in your team chat. The link holds every step, stroke, champion and ward, so your team opens exactly what you drew. You can also download the board as a PNG.
Can I draw on the minimap during a game?
No. League of Legends only lets you ping the map in game. The planner is for planning before a game, between games or while reviewing a replay.
When do jungle camps spawn in League of Legends?
Since patch 26.1 the Blue Sentinel, Red Brambleback, Murk Wolves and Raptors spawn at 0:55, Gromp and Krugs at 1:07 and the Rift Scuttlers at 2:55. The buffs respawn after 5:00, the other camps after 2:15 and the Scuttler after 2:30.
When do Dragon and Baron spawn, and how long is their respawn?
The first drake spawns at 5:00 and the next one 5:00 after the last kill. Baron Nashor spawns at 20:00 and respawns 6:00 after it dies. The Elder Dragon comes 6:00 after a team takes its fourth drake.
Is Atakhan still on Summoner's Rift?
No. Riot removed Atakhan in patch 26.1, at the start of the 2026 season. The top pit now holds the Voidgrubs from 8:00, the Rift Herald from 15:00 and Baron Nashor from 20:00.
Is there an HD Summoner's Rift map image?
Yes: the map on this page is a vector drawing, so it stays sharp at any size. Leave the board empty and press Download PNG for a 2000 by 2000 pixel image.
Does the map planner work on mobile?
Yes. The board takes the full width of the screen, you pinch to zoom, and every tool works with your finger.
