LoL Randomizer
Random champion and build generator. Roll a random champion, or a full build with role, summoner spells, skill order, items and runes. Pick from every champion, this week's free rotation or the champions you have played.
Pick a mode, a map and a role, then press Roll. The randomizer runs in your browser on the current patch's data and needs JavaScript; the guide below works without it.

How the LoL Randomizer Works
The LoL randomizer picks a random champion from the 173 in League on patch 16.20, and, if you want, a full build: role, two summoner spells, a skill order, boots, five finished items, a rune page and stat shards.
- Pick a mode: Champion, Full build or Ultimate Bravery.
- Pick the map (Summoner's Rift or ARAM) and, on the Rift, a role or Any.
- Pick the pool: every champion, this week's free rotation or the champions your Riot ID has played.
- Press Roll. Roll again as often as you like, or keep the champion and roll a new build.
- Copy the link to send the same build to friends, or copy the build as text.
Every roll uses a random seed, and the link carries it: whoever opens it gets the same champion and build. The data (champions, items, runes, spells) follows Riot's Data Dragon and updates with each patch.
Champion, Full Build and Ultimate Bravery Modes
- Champion: one random champion, filtered by role. The fastest way to settle who plays what.
- Full build: a champion with a playable build. In Coherent style the items match the champion's damage (AP items for mages, AD items for marksmen and fighters, tank items for tanks), junglers get Smite and their pet, supports their quest item.
- Ultimate Bravery: everything random, role included. Items ignore what the champion needs, which is the whole point.
In every mode the runes are random: a keystone and three runes from one tree, two runes from a second tree and three stat shards. Ultimate Bravery has its own page with the rules and how to play it with friends.
Filters: Roles, Free Rotation and Your Own Champions
You can roll from three pools: every champion, the champions free to play this week, or the champions a Riot ID has played.
- This week's free rotation uses the list on our free champion rotation page, so everyone can play the roll without owning the champion.
- Champions I've played reads the champions with mastery points on a Riot ID, the same data as our mastery chart. It is the closest public list to the champions an account owns.
- Roles come from how often each champion is played in each position: a champion counts for a role when at least a fifth of its games are there, so many count for two.
Champions per Role on Patch 16.20
On patch 16.20 the randomizer counts 48 junglers, 47 top laners, 39 mid laners, 25 bot laners and 36 supports among 173 champions. A champion played in two roles counts in both.
| Role | Champions |
|---|---|
| Top | 47 |
| Jungle | 48 |
| Mid | 39 |
| Bot | 25 |
| Support | 36 |
The role data comes from Meraki Analytics' champion play rates and updates on its own schedule. A brand new champion with no data yet fits every role.
Which Items, Runes and Spells Can Be Rolled
A build draws from 105 finished items on Summoner's Rift and 104 in ARAM, 7 pairs of tier 2 boots, 17 keystones and the summoner spells each map allows.
| Part | Summoner's Rift | ARAM |
|---|---|---|
| Finished items | 105 | 104 |
| Tier 2 boots | 7 | 7 |
| Summoner spells | 9 | 9 |
| Keystones | 17 | 17 |
Finished items are the ones that cost 2,000 gold or more and build into nothing else. Items only one champion can buy, items from other modes and items not in the shop are left out. Cassiopeia, who cannot buy boots, gets six items instead.
Random Teams for Custom Games
The team roller gives one champion per role, or five for ARAM, with no champion twice. Roll 10 for two teams in a custom game: each team gets a top, a jungler, a mid, a bot and a support.
The team uses the pool and map you picked above, so a 5v5 of free rotation champions takes one click.
Randomizer Challenges to Try
- Off-role week: roll a champion in your worst role for every normal game this week.
- Free rotation only: play only rolls from the free rotation until you win once with each role.
- One champion, three builds: keep the champion and roll three builds; play one game with each.
- Ultimate Bravery night: five friends, five rolls, a custom game, no changes allowed.
- Mastery hunt: roll from the champions you have played and get the champion to the next mastery level.
Where to Play Random Builds
Play random builds in normal games, ARAM and custom games, and tell your team before the game starts. In ranked your teammates expect a serious attempt to win, so keep the randomizer to the champion pick or skip it there.
Coherent builds are playable in most games. Ultimate Bravery builds often are not, which is why the challenge works best with friends who all play by the same rules.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a LoL randomizer?
A tool that picks a random League of Legends champion and, if you want, a random build: role, summoner spells, skill order, items and runes.
Is the randomizer truly random?
Yes. Each roll uses a random seed from your browser, with no weighting. The same seed gives the same roll, which is how shared links work.
Can I roll only champions I own?
Close to it: pick Champions I've played and type your Riot ID. It uses the champions with mastery points on your account.
Can I roll from the free champion rotation?
Yes. Pick This week's free rotation and every roll is a champion anyone can play this week.
Does it work for ARAM?
Yes. On ARAM there is no role, the items come from the ARAM shop and the summoner spells include Mark and Clarity.
What is the difference between Coherent and Chaos?
Coherent builds fit the champion: AP items for AP champions, AD items for AD champions, Smite for junglers. Chaos ignores all of that, like Ultimate Bravery.
How many champions can it roll?
Every champion in League on the current patch: 173 on patch 16.20.
Can I share a build with friends?
Yes. Copy link gives a link that opens the same champion and build, or copy the build as text for the chat.
Is it updated every patch?
Yes. The data follows Riot's Data Dragon and the randomizer checks for a new patch every hour.
Should I use random builds in ranked?
No. Use them in normal games, ARAM and custom games. In ranked, keep at most the random champion pick.
