What Is Ultimate Bravery in League of Legends?

Ultimate Bravery is a community challenge: you play League of Legends with a champion, role, summoner spells, items and runes chosen at random, and you are not allowed to change them. It is not an official Riot game mode; players run it in normal games, ARAM and custom games with a generator like this one.

The fun is in builds nobody would pick: a support with three crit items, a tank with an AP keystone, a marksman in the jungle. Winning with them is the challenge.

Ultimate Bravery Rules

There is no official rulebook; these are the rules most groups play by.

1. Play the champion you rolled, in the role you rolled.
2. Take the two summoner spells you rolled. Junglers always take Smite.
3. Set up the rune page and shards exactly as rolled.
4. Max your abilities in the rolled order; take your ultimate whenever you can.
5. Buy the items in the rolled order, boots included. Starter items, potions and wards are free choices.
6. Do not sell a finished item.
7. Tell your team before the game starts.

How to Play Ultimate Bravery with Friends

1. Create a custom game or join a normal or ARAM lobby together.
2. Everyone presses Roll here and sends the link to the group, so nobody rerolls in secret.
3. In champion select, lock in the rolled champions; in blind pick both teams can play the same champion.
4. Set runes, spells and the item order before the game starts, and play it out.

For a full 5v5, the LoL randomizer rolls whole teams with one champion per role and no champion twice.

Ultimate Bravery or a Coherent Random Build

Ultimate Bravery ignores what the champion needs; a coherent random build does not. If pure chaos is too much for your group, switch the randomizer to Full build and Coherent: the items then match the champion's damage, junglers get Smite and their pet, and supports their quest item.

Is Ultimate Bravery Trolling?

Not when everyone in the game agreed to it. In a custom game with friends, or a normal game where your team knows and plays along, it is a challenge. Picking a random build in ranked without telling anyone is different: your teammates expect a serious attempt to win.
