LoL MMR Checker
Riot hides your matchmaking rating. Enter a Riot ID and we estimate it from your rank, your winrate and the players you were actually matched with.
Enter a Riot ID with its tag (for example Name#EUW), choose the region and the queue (Solo/Duo, Flex, Normal, Swiftplay or ARAM) and press Check MMR. The tool needs JavaScript to run the lookup.

What is MMR in League of Legends?
MMR (Matchmaking Rating) is the hidden number League of Legends uses to match you with players of similar skill and to decide how much LP you win or lose. Riot does not show it in the client. It goes up when you win and down when you lose, and every queue has its own: Solo/Duo, Flex and Normal games are rated separately.
Your rank is what you see. Your MMR is what the matchmaker uses. Most of the time they sit close together, and when they drift apart the game pulls your rank toward your MMR by changing your LP gains. That is why two Gold II players can get +27 and +16 for the same win.
Riot describes MMR as what it uses to "determine your place on the ladder and match you up with similarly skilled players", and keeps the number secret on purpose. You can read the official wording on Riot Support: MMR, Rank, and LP.
How this MMR checker works
The checker combines three public signals: your rank and winrate, the average rating of the lobbies you were placed in, and the LP you really gained between checks. The first answer shows up in a couple of seconds. The lobby analysis runs in the background and tightens the estimate as each game is read.
| Signal | What we read | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Rank and winrate | Tier, division, LP, wins and losses in the queue | Gives an instant baseline. A 58% winrate over 80 games sits above its badge, a 44% winrate sits below. |
| Lobby average | The rank of the other nine players in your recent games | The matchmaker groups players of similar MMR, so the lobbies you land in are the closest public view of your hidden number. |
| Observed LP | Your LP and record now against your last saved check | Real LP per win is Riot telling you where your MMR is. Available from your second check on. |
What it can and cannot tell you
It can tell you whether your MMR is above, level with or below your visible rank, roughly by how much, what LP to expect and how many wins the next division will take. It cannot read Riot's internal value. Nobody outside Riot can. Every MMR site is an estimate, which is why we show a margin next to the number instead of pretending it is exact.
LoL MMR by rank (Season 2026)
On the scale used here each tier spans 500 MMR and each division 125, starting at 0 for Iron IV and reaching 3500 at Master. One LP is worth 1.25 MMR inside a division. Most MMR checkers use the same scale, so numbers are comparable between sites.
| Tier | IV | III | II | I |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Iron | 0 to 124 | 125 to 249 | 250 to 374 | 375 to 499 |
| Bronze | 500 to 624 | 625 to 749 | 750 to 874 | 875 to 999 |
| Silver | 1000 to 1124 | 1125 to 1249 | 1250 to 1374 | 1375 to 1499 |
| Gold | 1500 to 1624 | 1625 to 1749 | 1750 to 1874 | 1875 to 1999 |
| Platinum | 2000 to 2124 | 2125 to 2249 | 2250 to 2374 | 2375 to 2499 |
| Emerald | 2500 to 2624 | 2625 to 2749 | 2750 to 2874 | 2875 to 2999 |
| Diamond | 3000 to 3124 | 3125 to 3249 | 3250 to 3374 | 3375 to 3499 |
| Master, Grandmaster, Challenger | 3500 and up, about 1.25 MMR per LP | |||
Example: Diamond II with 29 LP is 3250 + 29 x 1.25, which is about 3286. If the checker puts you at 3400, you are playing in Diamond I lobbies while wearing a Diamond II badge.
What your LP gains say about your MMR
If you gain more LP for a win than you lose for a defeat, your MMR is above your rank. If you lose more than you gain, it is below. Riot states this directly: equal gains and losses mean MMR and rank agree, bigger gains mean you are being pushed up, smaller gains mean the system thinks your badge is too high.
| LP per win | Where your MMR sits | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| +27 or more | A division or more above your rank | Fast climb. Losses cost little. Common on fresh accounts and after long win streaks. |
| +23 to +26 | Above your rank | Healthy. You climb with a winrate a little under 50%. |
| +19 to +22 | Level with your rank | Normal. You need more than 50% to move. |
| +15 to +18 | Below your rank | You lose more than you gain. A 50% winrate slowly drops you. |
| +14 or less | A division or more below your rank | The system expects you to fall. Only a sustained win streak repairs it. |
These bands are approximations built from how LP tracks the MMR gap. Riot tunes the exact values between seasons, and apex tiers behave differently, so read them as a direction and not as a promise.
MMR vs rank vs LP
MMR measures skill, rank displays progress and LP is the currency that moves your rank toward your MMR. Rank is sticky by design: you cannot drop out of a tier on the first loss at 0 LP. MMR has no such protection, so after a bad run the two separate and your LP gains shrink until they meet again.
Since the 2026 ranked update the client also shows a climbing indicator when your visible rank is lagging behind your MMR. It confirms the direction. It does not show the size of the gap, which is what this checker estimates.
How MMR changes after a win or a loss
Only the result of the game changes your MMR. A win raises it, a loss lowers it, and the size of the change depends on how strong the two teams were expected to be. Beating a lobby rated above you is worth more than beating one rated below you.
- KDA, CS and damage do not change MMR in ranked Summoner's Rift. A 0/10 win counts the same as a 20/0 win.
- Promotion series no longer exist. Riot removed them between divisions and later between tiers, so there is no promo MMR check anymore.
- New accounts move fast. The system is unsure about you in your first games, so each result swings your MMR more. It settles after roughly 30 to 50 games.
- Dodging costs LP and a queue timer, not MMR. In Master and above a dodge is now also charged as an LP loss.
What changed for MMR in Season 2026
The 2026 ranked update did not change how MMR is calculated, but it changed several things around it that affect your LP.
- Autofill parity. The matchmaker tries to give both teams the same number of autofilled players, in the same roles when it can.
- Aegis of Valor. Play an autofilled game to a decent standard and you get extra LP for a win or protection from the LP loss.
- Rank distribution recalibrated in the lower tiers so the badge better reflects current skill levels.
- Climbing indicator in the client when your rank trails your MMR.
- Flex brought closer to Solo/Duo. Flex ranks were pulled in line with Solo/Duo, and Flex results never push your Solo rank up.
- Duo queue is back at every rank in most regions, including Challenger.
How to fix low MMR and bad LP gains
The only way to raise MMR is to win more games than you lose over a meaningful sample. There is no trick, but there are ways to stop leaking winrate.
- Winrate beats volume. Going 12 and 8 repairs MMR. Going 60 and 60 does nothing except cost you time.
- Play two or three champions in one role. Mastery is the cheapest winrate you will ever buy.
- Set a stop rule. Two losses in a row and you are done for the session. Tilt queues are where MMR goes to die.
- Do not dodge your way out. Dodging saves MMR in one game but the LP you pay widens the gap you are trying to close.
- Expect about 20 to 30 games of above 55% winrate before LP gains visibly recover from a bad gap.
A new account only makes sense when the gap is more than a full tier. Below that, the games you would spend levelling are better spent fixing the account you already have. If you are curious what that account is worth before deciding, the LoL account value calculator gives you a number.
ARAM, Normal, Flex and Swiftplay MMR
Every queue keeps its own hidden MMR. Your Solo/Duo rating does not decide your ARAM or Normal lobbies, and a great ARAM record does nothing for ranked.
| Queue | Own MMR | Visible rank | How we estimate it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ranked Solo/Duo | Yes | Yes | Rank, winrate, lobby average and observed LP |
| Ranked Flex | Yes | Yes | Same as Solo/Duo, using Flex ranks |
| Normal Draft | Yes | No | Average ranked rating of the players in your recent Normal lobbies |
| Swiftplay | Yes | No | Average ranked rating of your recent Swiftplay lobbies |
| ARAM | Yes | No | Average ranked rating of your recent ARAM lobbies |
For queues without a visible rank the estimate answers a different question: what rank are the people you get matched with? It is less precise than the ranked estimate, because many Normal and ARAM players have no current rank to read.
Is loser's queue real?
No. Riot has said repeatedly that matchmaking does not place players in harder games after a win streak or easier ones after a loss streak. It matches on MMR and aims for a fair game each time.
What people feel as loser's queue is usually two ordinary things stacked. Streaks happen by chance far more often than intuition expects, and after a win streak your MMR really is higher, so your next lobbies really are harder. The match table above shows your team's average rating against the enemy's for each recent game, so you can check your own streaks instead of guessing.
Is this MMR checker accurate?
It is an estimate with a stated margin. With ten recent games read, that margin is about half a division either side. The margin is printed next to your number. It shrinks as more lobbies are analysed and once we have a previous check to compare LP against.
Two MMR sites can show different numbers for the same account because they use different signals. A site that only reads rank and winrate will sit close to your badge. A site that reads lobbies will follow your recent games. We blend both and tell you which signals were used, so you know what the number is made of.
MMR checker FAQ
What is my MMR in LoL?
Your MMR is the hidden rating the matchmaker uses for you. Enter your Riot ID above and the checker estimates it from your rank, winrate and recent lobbies, then shows the rank that number corresponds to.
How do I check my MMR in League of Legends?
Type your Riot ID with the tag (for example Name#EUW), pick your region and queue, and press Check MMR. No login is needed. The client itself never shows MMR.
Can I see my real MMR in the client?
No. Riot keeps MMR hidden. The closest official hints are your LP gains and the 2026 climbing indicator that appears when your rank trails your MMR.
What is a good MMR in LoL?
A good MMR is one at or above your current rank, because that is what gives you healthy LP gains. In absolute terms, 1500 is Gold IV, 2500 is Emerald IV and 3000 is Diamond IV on the scale used here.
What MMR is Gold, Platinum, Emerald and Diamond?
Gold is 1500 to 1999, Platinum 2000 to 2499, Emerald 2500 to 2999 and Diamond 3000 to 3499. Master and above start at 3500.
Why am I gaining less LP than I lose?
Your MMR is below your visible rank. The system lowers your gains and raises your losses until rank and MMR meet. Winning more than you lose over the next 20 to 30 games brings the gains back.
How many games does it take to fix MMR?
For a gap of about one division, expect 20 to 30 games at a winrate above 55%. Larger gaps take longer. Playing more games at 50% does not fix it.
Does dodging affect MMR?
No. A dodge costs LP and gives you a queue timer but leaves MMR unchanged. In Master and above a dodge is also charged as an LP loss since the 2026 update.
Does KDA affect MMR?
No. In ranked Summoner's Rift only winning or losing changes your MMR. Individual stats do not.
Is Flex MMR separate from Solo/Duo?
Yes. Each queue has its own MMR. In 2026 Riot pulled Flex ranks closer to Solo/Duo, but Flex games still never raise your Solo/Duo rank.
Does ARAM have MMR?
Yes. ARAM has its own hidden MMR and no visible rank. Pick ARAM in the queue selector to see the average rank of the players in your recent ARAM games.
Do Normal games have MMR?
Yes. Normal Draft and Swiftplay each use their own hidden MMR, separate from ranked.
What is the difference between Elo and MMR?
Elo was the visible rating League used until Season 3. It was replaced by tiers, divisions and LP, with a hidden MMR doing the matchmaking. Players still say Elo when they mean rank or MMR.
Does MMR reset each season?
It is soft reset, not wiped. At the start of a ranked season your MMR is pulled part of the way toward the average and your placement games move it quickly from there.
Does duo queue affect MMR?
You gain and lose MMR the same way. Premade duos are matched as slightly stronger than their ratings suggest, so expect marginally harder lobbies.
Can I check someone else's MMR?
Yes. Any Riot ID with recent games in the chosen queue works, and you can compare two accounts side by side.
Is this like WhatIsMyMMR?
The idea is the same: estimate the hidden rating from public match data. This checker adds LP predictions, a margin of error, per game lobby ratings and support for Flex, Normal, Swiftplay and ARAM.
Is the MMR checker free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account and never asks for your Riot login.
Is this endorsed by Riot Games?
